This Volvo can be registered as a motorhome in most States. No CDL is required to drive it, and no stopping at weigh stations. The paint is shiny with deep luster. You just can't tell because a thunderstorm is rolling in.

Each polished aluminum fuel tank holds 150 gallons. This provides a 3,000 plus mile towing range without refueling.

The frame ends have been square cut. This makes it easier for a fabricator to construct a bed on the frame. The air slide hitch pictured can be located at any position on the frame for towing. The buyer aslo has the option of installing an air ride hitch. There is a quick disconnect air fitting just below the left side of the sleeper. This allows the owner to air up truck or trailer tires etc.

Close inspection of the Holland hitch will reveal that a smooth steel plate has been fabricated and welded into the Holland hitchs grease reservoir. This provides a smooth hitching and towing surface. The king pin on big fivers fits this hitch perfectly. The back of sleeper light allows for hitching or unhitching at night. The frame has been sandblasted and painted.

The bumper has been sanded and painted. A bumper faring has been installed and also painted. All 4 Accuride aluminum wheels are new, as are the theft proof front lugnut covers and hubcaps.
The steering wheel is tilt and telescoping. The unit has automatic AC, cruise control, AM, FM Stereo Cassette tape deck and weather band channel, heated mirrors, hydraulically assisted clutch, (used only to stop and start), power steering and air brakes. There is an onboard computer which will tell the driver if there are any faults in the engine, transmission or ABS system. It also provides a good deal of real time information for the driver such as fuel mileage, voltage, etc. (There are no faults, and everything on the truck functions as designed).

The new Bostrom Wide Ride Ultra Leather Air Ride seats are fully reclinable. The custom made removable 6 piece carpet set is also new. The red and black buttons on the side of the dash are the factory power supply for a CB radio.

This is the drivers side storage compartment. The little black box on the lower right is the weather protected shore power connection. The orange three prong connection connects to an electrical strip which will power onboard appliances.

The engine comes with a comprehensive engine warranty from Cummins Engine Company which includes everything internal to the engine except the injectors and the water pump.
This coverage extends until July of 04. At that time the buyer may choose to purchase an extended warranty for 2 additional years/200K miles. The availiable extended Cummins warranty covers 22 major components in the engine. Cost of this optional coverage is $600 for 2 years.
This Volvo has a fresh DOT inspection indicating that all systems installed on the unit are in good shape. The engine RPM has been reprogrammed from 1,800 to 2,100 RPM. The 65 MPH governor has been reprogrammed to 80 MPH. The Axle ratio is 3:90. The transmission OD ratio is .74.

The engine has just been inspected, fully serviced, including the oil, combination oil filter, coolant additive filter, and air filter. The engine has been completely tuned including all valves adjustmed, Jake Brake adjustment, and all injectors adjusted. There are no fluid or coolant leaks. The next tune up will not be due for 125,000 miles.

The chassis has just been lubed. The transmission and rear axle synthetic lube are freshly changed. I had the syn lube changed about 80K miles sooner than required by Eaton. The transmission and rear axle come with a 5 year 750K mile warranty.

This engine and Volvo have 421K miles. The average time to inframe overhaul is 800,000 miles. Considering the average, an inframe will not be necessary for about 380,000 miles, if then.

The tires are 295/75 R22.5s. All tires on the Volvo should be good for 100K miles.

There are two sunvisors for the driver in addition to the external sunvisor. One folds out from the overhead storage compartment and the other folds down by the drivers side window. It slides into the drivers choice of positions.

Both seats have dual arm rests, air lumbar, and bottom seat air adjustments. The "up" and "downshift" butons are visible on the side of the "T" autoshift handle. These are for use if the driver is driving with the transmission in the "hold" position. If left in drive, the ECM on the engine and the computer on the transmission determine when to shift automatically. Similiar to any automatic transmission.

There is an air suspension dump which will lower the back of the frame about 5 inches. It will reinflate in about 10 seconds and lift what ever load is placed on the hitch.
There are two pop out cupholders, and two more cupholders not visible, just to the right of the driver.

The three air tanks supply air for everything including both separate air brake systems. The engine has an air compressor which supplies air to all tanks. There is also an air dryer under the truck. There are four fully charged 750 CCA batteries enclosed just above the air tanks.

The T handle on the shifter is the auto shift transmission control. Positions availiable are reverse, neutral, drive, hold, and low. The more I drive these, the better I like them. I like to drive in the "hold" position. I can start out in 5th gear by just letting the clutch out. The truck will idle forward with no fuel added. In the "hold" position, the driver can decide when to shift rather than the computers deciding. The driver can skip shift by pressing a button twice with his thumb.
Downshifting can be avoided altogether if the driver chooses to do so. Example: Say you're driving 50 MPH, and the light turns red. Simply put on the brake and about 30 MPH depress the clutch about an inch. In the "hold" position, the transmsiion will remain in 10th gear. When the vehicle stops, the transmission automatically goes back to 5th gear.
When the engine is started, the driver selects the gear he will start out with. That would be 4th gear if towing, and 5th gear if bobtail. The transmission will always return to the same gear the driver selected when he/she started the engine. This will continue until the driver shuts the truck down.
Each time the engine is initially started, the transmission indicator will always indicate 2nd gear. The driver merely presses the "up" button to 5th gear, when stopped, the indicator and transmission will always return the gear selected when the truck was started. The driver may select a lower gear by pressing the "down" button with his/her right thumb, or a higher gear by pressing the "up" button.
